What’s in a Name?

When we set out to build this business, one of the first things that came together—almost effortlessly—was the name.

I had a clear vision of what I wanted this new venture to be. It wasn’t just about offering services or building a company—it was about creating something that felt rooted, expansive, and collaborative.

Here’s what I knew:

  • I wanted it to feel local, with strong West Coast roots, but with space to grow beyond.
  • I wanted it to speak to the full range of services we offer—not just marketing, not just digital, but all the ways we connect with audiences today. From websites to print, ads to content, strategy to design.
  • And most importantly, I wanted it to feel like a community—a space where creatives, strategists, and innovators could come together, lend their expertise, and build something bigger than any one person or project.

And just like that, Pacific Media Guild was born.


Pacific

Relating to the ocean bordering the western coasts of North and South America. Evoking vastness, movement, and possibility.

The Pacific part? That’s where I’m from. It’s my home base, my heart space. From San Francisco to Sonoma County, this region shapes who I am and how I work. But it also speaks to something larger—the expansive mindset we bring to the table. We might be grounded in the West, but our vision? It’s boundless.


Media

The means of communication that reach and influence people widely—whether through print, digital, video, or beyond.

Media is at the core of what we do. But not just one kind. When I thought about the type of work we’d offer, I didn’t want to limit it. Not just digital, not just print, not just ads. It had to reflect the full ecosystem of how we tell stories and connect with audiences today—across every platform, channel, and medium.


Guild
noun | guild
An association of people with shared interests or pursuits, often skilled in a particular craft or trade.

Finally, Guild felt like the heart of it all. It’s not just a business—it’s a collective. My father brings decades of experience in advertising and sales, my brother adds his expertise in business consulting and operations, and I bring my creative vision from years in design, branding, and storytelling. Together, we offer a range of perspectives and skills that make us stronger as a team. And when a project calls for something outside our wheelhouse? We collaborate with other experts—designers, developers, writers, strategists—who share our values and our commitment to craft.

That’s what makes us a Guild.
